Mornin’ Ya’ll

Paula Deen here!  (Just kidding.. although she’s welcome to cook me breakfast any day of the week as long as there is no butter involved!)

My morning habits consist of waking up and zombie-walking to the coffee maker to “wake” up, finding a good section of the news paper to read, and making my brekkie.  Regardless of what the contents of the Trib are, I absolutely HAVE TO read two small but very important sections:

the WEATHER:

& my HOROSCOPE! Yep, I’m a scorpio!

& I like comparing my horoscopes to ones listed at other places-

  • yahoo.com horoscope:

“Your intellectual side is stimulated today, so see if you can get your friends to help you dream up a few new ideas. You may need to step in a new direction in order to make the most of what you’ve got.  You’ve often been complimented on your voice. But now, it’s also going to be your words that will soothe, comfort and bring peace to warring factions — even if one of those warring factions happens to be your family. You can do it. They may be at each other’s throats, but you can calm them down — just like you’ve always been able to. That goes for friends, too, by the way, even the newer ones.”

  • msn horoscope:

“Your neighborhood is changing, Scorpio, and the change is all for the better. Wonderful new neighbors may have moved in, or perhaps a small gourmet take-out shop has just opened up. It all adds to the sense of warmth and community of your town. You spend a good part of the day among your neighbors, encountering them wherever you go as you run errands in town”

Well none of those are TOO exciting & now that you’re well aware of a couple of my habits…. ON TO BREAKFAST!

Overnight oats!!!

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp agave
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 & 1/2 bananer
  • 2 tbsp ground flax

I believe that coffee a good quote can make all the difference in the outcome of your day, it can inspire motivation, determination, self-confidence..etc

A favorite inspiring quote of mine is:

“Among other things, you’ll find that you’re not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You’re by no means alone on that score, you’ll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You’ll learn from them — if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It’s a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn’t education. It’s history. It’s poetry.”  — J.D. Salinger  from “Catcher in the Rye

What’s a quote(s), song, proverb..etc that you find exceptionally inspiring????

Do you read your horoscope ever?  What’s your sign?  What does YOUR horoscope say for today?!

Looks yummy! I agree, my morning can’t start with out a cup of coffee and the paper either! Although I would rather not see the weather section lately! too depressing for February, where is Spring!

I read my horoscope almost every day…I like doing something light hearted before actually getting work done. My favorite is cosmopolitan because they are usually hilarious. I hate when my horoscope is about finance… I need more spice in my life! I’ going to give some overnight oats a try tomorrow!! Do you soak then in milk over night then add yogurt?

I mix all the ingredients I’m planning on using in the bowl and then stick it in the fridge overnight. (sometimes I’ll add nut butter or nuts in the morning)

I used to use milk and yogurt (1/4 of soymilk and 2/3 cup yogurt) but I like mine thick and creamy so I cut out the milk altogether and added a bit more yogurt instead (3/4 to 1 cup)!

If you like them thick like I do I recommend skipping the milk! Yogurt makes them the creamiest, most delicious bowl of oats 🙂
